Preventive Maintenance

Factory-Scheduled Maintenance in Sandston, VA

You do not have to go to the dealer to keep your factory warranty. Federal law — the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act — says a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because an independent shop did the maintenance, as long as the work meets the specification and you keep the records.

We do the work to the book, use the right fluids and parts, and give you an itemised invoice that proves it. Keep those invoices in the glovebox and your warranty is exactly as good as it was.

Free with every service

The 16-point vehicle check, with photos of anything worth showing you. It is a health report, not a sales pitch — and it does not apply to state inspections, which are a separate state-regulated procedure.

What we'd tell you to skip

Not every line on a dealer's menu is a maintenance item. Some of them are profit centres with a service name attached. Engine flushes on a healthy engine, fuel injection service every oil change, and nitrogen in the tires are not going to make your car last longer.

We will tell you which items on your interval are the manufacturer's and which ones are the shop's idea. There is a real difference and you deserve to know which is which.

The record that pays you back twice

Maintenance records protect your warranty while you own the car and add real money to it when you sell. A folder of dated invoices is the difference between 'runs great' and a documented history, and buyers pay for the second one.

The staff are professional and explains everything very clearly. They are honest and transparent with no attempts to upsell unnecessary services. I highly recommend this shop for reliable work.

Preventive Maintenance

Preventive Maintenance — questions we get asked

Will using an independent shop void my new car warranty?

No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act a manufacturer cannot require you to use a dealer for routine maintenance to keep your warranty valid. Use the right specification parts and fluids and keep the receipts — which is exactly what we do.

What is in a 60,000-mile service?

It varies by manufacturer, which is the point. Give us the year, make, model and mileage and we will pull the actual schedule for your vehicle rather than sell you a generic package.

How do I know what my car needs next?

Bring it in for an oil change. The free 16-point check plus your mileage tells us what's coming due, and you leave with the list.
